Friday August 1 Seward/Anchorage/Fairbanks
Upon arrival in Seward, you’ll board a deluxe motorcoach and enjoy a scenic drive to the Anchorage airport where you will meet your Tour Director for a flight to Fairbanks. Enjoy an Alaskan museum visit. Overnight in Fairbanks.
Saturday August 2 Fairbanks/Denali
In the morning, enjoy a cruise on the Riverboat Discovery sternwheeler, which includes a stop at an Athabascan village. Travel by deluxe motorcoach to Denali where you’ll have the rest of the day free for optional activities, such as river-rafting or flightseeing, or to marvel at the natural beauty of the area. Overnight in Denali.
Sunday August 3 Denali/Talkeetna
Enjoy the Denali Natural History tour, a guided experience exploring Denali National Park. Then, in the afternoon, sit back and relax on board the Wilderness Express the glass-domed traincars on your way to Talkeetna. Spend a relaxing night at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.
Monday August 4 Talkeetna/Anchorage
Your day is open for exploration or optional activities, such as a float trip on the Talkeetna River. Later in the afternoon take in the amazing scenery from aboard the Wilderness Express on your way to Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage.
Tuesday August 5 Depart Anchorage
You will be transferred to Anchorage airport for your flight home. Please note that the flight from Anchorage to Vancouver or your home city is not included in the tour cost.

Course outline:
This presentation will provide information essential for treatment of the damaged or missing dentition. Today’s technology offers a variety of solutions for treatment. Diagnosis and management of patients with damage to the dentition as a result of occlusal problems is necessary for long-term success. This course is designed to teach the participant restorative procedures using conventional fixed prosthodontic procedures and implant supported restorations. The presentation will include materials and techniques for successful treatment of patients in the general practice.

- Update on the Oral-Systemic connection
- Update on bisphosphonates and necrosis of the jaw
- Benefits and limitations of non-surgical therapy
- Benefits and limitations of surgical therapy
- Facts and fallacies of antimicrobial therapy

Contemporary Implant Dentistry:
- What works and what doesn’t
- Systemic and local risk factors

- Know about the current understanding of the potential connection between Periodontal Diseases and systemic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiac Disease, Stroke, Pre-Term Low birth weight babies, Pneumonia and others
- Describe the current knowledge on the relationship of Bisphosphonate medications and their potential impact on causing osteonecrosis of the jaws
- Understand the benefits and limitations of surgical and non-surgical Periodontal therapies
- Have an appreciation of the many risk factors that impact on success and failure in Implant Dentistry.
- Learn the indications, technique and benefits of Immediate Implant placement and restoration.

Course Clinician
Murray Arlin, D.D.S., F.R.C.D.(C)
Dr. Arlin received his D.D.S. at McGill University, Montreal in 1977, his diploma in Periodontics at the University of Toronto in 1980 and his Fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 1983. Dr. Arlin has taught at the University of Toronto at the undergraduate and post graduate levels. He has also presented numerous seminars internationally and has authored many articles in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, in leading journals. He is a past president of the Ontario Society of Periodontists, as well as the Ontario Society for Osseointegration, and was chairman of the Canadian Academy’s full day Periodontal course. Dr. Arlin is the co-founder of the Toronto Implant Study Club and the sole founder of the Dental Hygienist Study Club of Toronto.
